Nottingham’s 60-foot flag is to be unfurled on the Council House to celebrate England reaching the quarter finals of this year’s European Championship.

The flag, believed to be the largest in the country, measures 60ft by 26ft (18m by 8m) and covers most of the building’s frontage. Its installation is being sponsored by construction company Willmott Dixon and signage and print company John E Wright and Co Ltd.

It will be in place ahead of England’s last-eight clash with Switzerland on Saturday.

The flag is pictured on the front of the Council House for St George’s Day in April this year.
